Construction Manager working to launch a new 4G WiMax Network in the Greater Los Angeles market. Tracking the development of 210 sites. One of the first CM’s out of 20 Turn-key vendors to provide a Building Permit and start construction on the first Clearwire sites in the So. California market. From December 2009 to September 2010, I completed the construction of 45 sites. Responsibilities include: Tracking site development dates in Clearwire Data Base (Clearvision), Ordering Material, Tracking Permits, Bid-walks, Utility coordination (Burbank Power, LADWP & SCE), Site Construction, Punch Walk, and Site Close-out. Very successful at setting the pace for all vendors working on this project.

 

February 2007 to January 2009

Glotel - Ontario, California

Project Manager – T-Mobile Inland Empire

Construction Manager / PreConstruction Manager working in the Development Department in the T-Mobile office in Ontario. Responsible for the design and construction of cell sites from search ring to on-air. Worked closely with internal T-Mobile management. Selected and managed all vendors, including Architect and Engineering Companies, Scheduling Site Walks, Search Rings, Design Walk, Utility Coordination, Ordering Materials including the Geotechnical Report, Tower, Shelter / Vault. Document control included all pertinent site information including drawings for zoning, construction, tower including calcs, and equipment / lease area. I directed the RF, Architectural, Structural, Electrical, and Landscape Engineers. I assured a solid, cost effective / zonable design that made sure all aspects of the design are verified and QC’d before initiation. I supervised the routing of the drawings through internal review and through the jurisdiction for plan check to the Building Permit approval. I excelled in the management of the general contractors to bring sites on-air within the required timeframe. I met all team and personal goals during this period.

 

January 2002 to February 2007

VelociTel - Irvine, California

Construction Manager – AT&T / Cingular / Sprint / Nextel / Metro PCS in Southern California

Responsible for the design and construction management of cell sites. Worked with Various carriers as mentioned above (also Mountain Union and ClearWire sites). Maintained construction related schedules from search ring to building permit. Worked directly with Zoner, Site Aq, and all disciplines of Engineers. Handled all Utility Coordination. Very successful Permit Expediter. Was able to bring a troubled project to fruition and show a profit.

 

 

October 1998 to January 2002

JM Consulting Group Greater L.A., San Diego, Northern and Central California

Project Manager – Verizon, AT&T, Media One

Managed the construction of Digital Headends, Hubsites and Switches. Performed Budget, Design, and Materials Purchasing of all projects for AT&T Broadband. Supervised the installation of a 1Ghz Fiber Optic CATV network.

Built systems including: professional satellite receivers, forward / reverse fiber optic high-speed data, IPPV, EAS, status monitoring. Installed negative 200/400 amp DC power plants for standby power for each site. All projects were built on time and under budget. I learned AutoCAD to provide multiple sets of as-built drawings for AT&T Broadband when A&E couldn’t perform as expected. I was personally responsible for saving the company’s relationship with and acquiring additional work from a difficult client while making a 35% profit on the project. In early 2000, Transferred to San Diego to manage the construction and utility coordination of Verizon Wireless sites. Managed GC’s to perform site prep, site build, and equipment optimization for on-air.

 

June 1981 to October 1998

During this 17 year period, I worked at various large Cable Companies in the greater L.A. Area. Started as a Draftsman and progressed to Technical Manager directing up to 30 employees at cable systems from 30,000 subscribers to 110,000 subscribers. Managed the transition from analog to digital technology. Became proficient in maintaining a high level of Quality Control / Assurance and Preventive Maintenance of large cable /fiber optic systems from the Headend / Switch to the customer’s home.

 

In my 30+ year career in the Telecommunication Industry, I have received several industry related certifications and commendations. Currently have the OSHA 30 hours and Motorola R56 certifications and I am working on PMBOK, ETA, and CTA Certs.
